| Our
shared goal is discussion
and education and fun, via description, analysis, evaluation,
reaction and provocation- all in support of music and the arts-
which means both the creators and the audience, without which
we’d never know whether the tree lives in the forest.
Each contributor follows her own drummer, each one uses his
own voice. We'd rather follow a Second Line than a Party line.
We are politically aware, but not politically correct. We don’t
agree with each other: harmony without dissonance is usually
propaganda or pablum. We have no advertisers to please. We declare
independence from and gratitude to JumpArts, the organization
that generously hosts us. Any piece in Jump Arts Journal is
just one informed person’s perspective, intended for the
independent, intelligent reader. So there. Now Jump.
